Job Title: Senior Accountant, Public Companies

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Public Companies Accounting team. As a trusted advisor, you will provide comprehensive, tailored financial information to our clients, enabling them to make informed decisions with confidence.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct review and audit of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Set up files for new clients and newly incorporated businesses, managing multiple files simultaneously and conducting inventory counts.
  • Perform financial reporting, treasury, accounts receivable and revenue, accounts payable and purchases, capital asset and intangible asset acquisition and disposition, payroll walk-through with clients.
  • Summarize clients' current financial status by collecting information and validating balance sheet, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports.
  • Assess and assure the appropriateness of audit evidence for expenses, revenues, capital asset additions, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and prepaid expenses, etc.
  • Review and investigate discrepancies and irregularities in financial entries, documents, and reports.
  • Review charts of accounts and entries posted to accounts.
  • Prepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries, and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts, and highlights.
  • Develop effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team members.
  • Participate in business development initiatives and identify new business opportunities.
  • Maintain flexibility to travel, as necessary.

Requirements:

  • 2 to 4 years of relevant public accounting experience.
  • CPA designation.
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Assurance Standards (GAAS), and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with accounting software.
