About the Role

The City of Abbotsford's IT Department is seeking a highly skilled GIS professional to join our team. As a GIS Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in supporting and administering the City's enterprise GIS System, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, Geodatabases, and Servers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement enterprise GIS solutions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Develop and maintain standards and guidelines for Geodata Modelling, content management techniques, and strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver and support modern GIS technologies, providing users with an excellent experience.
  • Facilitate the effective use of GIS business applications, technologies, and databases to meet business needs.
Requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of GIS Enterprise System Architecture, including ArcGIS Enterprise Systems, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Python scripting for ArcGIS deployment and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems, Active Directory, and associated technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information System (GIS), or an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems.
  • Six years of progressively responsible and technical experience implementing and supporting enterprise GIS Solutions, database administration, conducting data and database analysis, and GIS systems architecture.
