The City of Abbotsford's IT Department is seeking a skilled GIS professional to join our team. As a GIS Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in supporting and administering the City's enterprise GIS System, ensuring the effective use of GIS business applications, technologies, and databases to meet the business needs of the City.
About the Role:
- Support and administer the City's enterprise GIS System, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, Geodatabases, and Servers.
- Develop and maintain standards and guidelines for Geodata Modelling, content management techniques, and strategies.
- Facilitate the effective use of GIS business applications, technologies, and databases to meet the business needs of the City.
Requirements:
- Extensive knowledge of GIS Enterprise System Architecture, including ArcGIS Enterprise Systems, ArcGIS Portal, ArcGIS Online, Enterprise Geodata Management, and Enterprise Administration Professional.
- Extensive knowledge of and demonstrated ability working with enterprise GIS databases within an IT environment, utilizing physical and virtual servers.
- Advanced working knowledge of Python scripting for ArcGIS deployment and maintenance.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems.
- Intermediate working knowledge of Active Directory and associated technologies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information System (GIS), or an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems.
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible and technical experience implementing and supporting enterprise GIS Solutions, database administration, conducting data and database analysis, and GIS systems architecture.
