Job Summary

The City of Abbotsford's IT Department is seeking a highly skilled GIS professional to join our team as a GIS Systems Administrator. This critical role will support and administer the City's enterprise GIS System, ensuring the effective use of GIS business applications, technologies, and databases to meet the business needs of the City.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement enterprise GIS solutions, including ArcGIS Enterprise Systems, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise GIS databases, including physical and virtual servers, and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Develop and implement standards and guidelines for geodata modeling, content management, and strategies.
  • Provide technical support and training to users on GIS business applications and technologies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop solutions to meet those needs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information System (GIS), or an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems.
  • At least six years of progressively responsible and technical experience implementing and supporting enterprise GIS solutions, database administration, conducting data and database analysis, and GIS systems architecture.
  • Extensive knowledge of GIS Enterprise System Architecture, enterprise GIS databases, and Python scripting for ArcGIS deployment and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Windows client and server operating systems, Active Directory, and associated technologies.
