About the Role

The City of Abbotsford's IT Department is seeking a skilled GIS professional to join our team. As a GIS Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in supporting and administering the City's enterprise GIS System, including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, Geodatabases, and Servers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement GIS enterprise system architecture, including ArcGIS Enterprise Systems, ArcGIS Portal, and ArcGIS Online.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise GIS databases, utilizing physical and virtual servers, and ensure data integrity and security.
  • Develop and implement Python scripts for ArcGIS deployment and maintenance, ensuring efficient and effective system operations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business needs and develop GIS solutions to meet those needs.
  • Provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills, to effectively engage with colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information System (GIS), or an Advanced Diploma in Geographic Information Systems.
  • At least six years of progressively responsible and technical experience implementing and supporting enterprise GIS Solutions, database administration, conducting data and database analysis, and GIS systems architecture.
