Opportunity Overview:

Aecon is in search of a skilled Proposal Manager to enhance the Urban Transportation Solutions division, focusing on innovative transit initiatives across Canada. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and industry analysis to identify market trends and prepare comprehensive executive summaries and reports.
  • Evaluate existing proposal and bid materials, project plans, and other pertinent documents to extract necessary information.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of client proposal and bid specifications.
  • Create detailed proposal and bid timelines and responsibility matrices.
  • Design and refine proposal and bid templates, including resumes and project sheets.
  • Organize and facilitate proposal and bid meetings.
  • Participate in pre-bid and post-bid meetings, summarizing outcomes and lessons learned for the project and proposal teams.
  • Coordinate contributions from various partners.
  • Oversee proposal and bid documentation management via Aecon's SharePoint portal.
  • Update and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) dashboards, including proposal and bid status reports.
  • Prepare formal presentations of proposals and deliver them to clients and stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely completion of proposal and bid deliverables from both internal and external collaborators, including health and safety documentation and various write-ups.
  • Manage the pursuit schedule and allocate resources effectively.
  • Mentor and develop proposal coordinators and assistants.
  • Conduct compliance reviews on all submission documents.
  • Organize team evaluations on behalf of the proposal management team.
  • Package and submit final proposals and bids punctually.
  • Oversee Aecon's formal submissions in response to RFQs, RFPs, EOIs, and Market Sounding proposals.
  • Occasionally prepare executive summaries and reports for Aecon's Project Risk Committee and Board of Directors.
  • Collaborate with Aecon's internal graphic design team to create essential proposal materials, including logos and visual branding elements.
  • Support additional content creation for business development objectives.
  • Foster an inclusive culture that promotes equity, embraces diverse perspectives, and encourages career advancement through a sense of belonging.

Qualifications:

  • Over 5 years of experience in major P3 Canadian proposal submissions.
  • Proven accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to gather, synthesize, and effectively present technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment where meeting deadlines is crucial.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Knowledge of the construction industry is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio.
  • Advocate for inclusion and diversity.
