We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide mental health services directly in the school community environment within designated Schools Plus schools.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing services to preschoolers, children, and adolescents, with a focus on early identification and intervention of mental health disorders. You will work collaboratively with clients, schools, and mental health services to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in social work, preferably with a Master's degree in Social Work. You should have current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers or be eligible to be registered. A minimum of two years' experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents is required.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. You should have knowledge of the DSM-IV-5 and be able to use it to screen for, assess, and conceptualize common childhood mental health disorders.
We offer a competitive salary of $49.04 hourly, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, and a defined benefit pension plan.
