We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide mental health services to children and adolescents in a school-based setting. Your expertise will focus on early identification and intervention of mental health disorders, and you will work collaboratively with schools, mental health services, and other community agencies to provide comprehensive support to students and their families.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers. You should have a minimum of two years' experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents in a mental health setting. Your skills and knowledge should include diagnostic experience, evidence-based treatment plans, and crisis and suicide risk assessment and intervention. You should also have experience in family-based interventions and be able to coordinate linkages with other health, justice, education, social service, and community agencies.
Responsibilities- Provide mental health services to children and adolescents in a school-based setting
- Work collaboratively with schools, mental health services, and other community agencies to provide comprehensive support to students and their families
- Conduct diagnostic assessments and develop evidence-based treatment plans
- Provide crisis and suicide risk assessment and intervention
- Coordinate linkages with other health, justice, education, social service, and community agencies
- Master's degree in Social Work
- Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers
- Minimum two years' experience providing mental health services to children and adolescents in a mental health setting
- Diagnostic experience and evidence-based treatment plans
- Crisis and suicide risk assessment and intervention skills
- Experience in family-based interventions
- Ability to coordinate linkages with other health, justice, education, social service, and community agencies
We offer a competitive salary of $49.04 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
