Social Services Professional

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide mental health services directly in the school community environment within designated Schools Plus schools.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Master's degree in Social Work and current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers. You should have a minimum of two years' experience providing mental health services to preschoolers, children, and adolescents within a mental health setting.
- Knowledge of the DSM-IV-5 and ability to screen for, assess, and conceptualize common childhood mental health disorders
- Demonstrated diagnostic experience completing mental health assessments and implementing evidence-based treatment plans
- Ability to screen for concurrent mental health disorders and knowledge of the impact of substance use on other mental health disorders
- Experience in crisis and suicide risk assessment and intervention
- Ability to assess family functioning and implement family-based interventions for complex cases
- Leadership skills in working collaboratively with other professionals
This is a permanent part-time position with 37.5 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and IncentivesThe hourly rate for this position is $37.31 - $49.04. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
