Position Overview

Eriez Flotation Canada Inc., the central office for flotation technologies, is in search of a Sales Director with a robust competitive drive and a demonstrated history of successful sales closures. In this role, you will engage in a journey characterized by excellence and innovation, aimed at captivating the global mineral processing and related sectors with Eriez Flotation's product offerings. You will work within a compact, high-performing team and collaborate with other Eriez offices worldwide, taking charge of organizing our Sales Team and partnering with our global team and clients to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will undertake the following responsibilities:

Leadership Responsibilities:
  1. Lead sales initiatives from Eriez Flotation's primary office, overseeing and executing contract negotiations globally.
  2. Drive marketing and business development for Eriez Flotation products (including flotation equipment and spargers) targeting clients in mineral processing and associated industries.
  3. Collaborate with management to formulate and implement a business plan and sales strategies aligned with the Global Flotation Strategic Plan for Eriez Flotation products.
  4. Foster the growth and development of the Sales Team by focusing on career advancement, supervision, training, planning, and coordination.
Operational Duties:
  1. Oversee sales processes, policies, and procedures while collaborating with other departments and product managers.
  2. Coordinate sales efforts to produce accurate and timely complex proposals.
  3. Generate and maintain monthly reports on sales performance and projections.
  4. Build and nurture client relationships throughout the sales cycle.
  5. Support other global Flotation offices and projects as required.
  6. Review and negotiate contract terms and conditions, ensuring the interests of Eriez Flotation are protected by minimizing risks. Collaborate with engineering and project management for a seamless handover.
  7. Represent Eriez Flotation at client meetings, trade shows, and conferences, engaging audiences with marketing materials such as presentations and promotional content.
  8. Manage a team of sales professionals and back-office staff to ensure that Eriez solutions are recognized and prioritized by engineering firms, consultants, and clients across Canada and other territories.
  9. Stay informed on industry trends by attending workshops, reading relevant publications, networking, and participating in professional organizations.
  10. Prepare the annual budget for the Sales group's expenses and profits and monitor it closely.
  11. Develop systems and tools to track Requests for Quotations (RFQs), orders, and ensure effective and timely communication with other departments.
Candidate Profile

To be considered for this role, you should possess over 15 years of relevant experience in sales and team management. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in flotation technology, manufacturing, and/or mining equipment sectors.

Additionally, you should have the following qualifications:

  • A strong competitive spirit and a proven track record of closing complex sales.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to guide a multinational team.
  • Comfortable in leadership roles, assigning tasks, working independently, and thriving in ambiguous situations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 20%-30%).
  • Ability to prioritize opportunities and manage time effectively for yourself and your team.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.
  • Able to plan and travel efficiently within the region.
  • Proficiency in French is a significant asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
