Position Overview

Eriez Flotation Canada Inc., the primary office for our flotation division, is in search of a Sales Director with a robust competitive drive and a successful history of closing sales. This role is pivotal in promoting our innovative solutions to the global mineral processing sector and related industries. As part of a small, high-performing team in our Delta, BC office, you will collaborate closely with our global offices and clients to achieve outstanding results.

Key Responsibilities

In this position, you will be responsible for:

Leadership Responsibilities:
  1. Leading sales initiatives from the flagship office, with accountability for finalizing contract negotiations worldwide.
  2. Driving marketing and business development efforts for Eriez Flotation products, including flotation equipment and spargers, targeting clients in the mineral processing sector.
  3. Working alongside management to formulate and implement a business plan and sales strategies aligned with the Global Flotation Strategic Plan.
  4. Fostering the growth and development of the Sales Team through mentorship, training, and strategic planning.
Operational Responsibilities:
  1. Overseeing sales processes, policies, and procedures while collaborating with other departments and product managers.
  2. Coordinating sales efforts to produce accurate and timely complex proposals.
  3. Generating and maintaining monthly reports on sales performance and projections.
  4. Building and nurturing client relationships throughout the sales cycle.
  5. Providing support to other global flotation offices and projects as required.
  6. Reviewing and negotiating contract terms while safeguarding the interests of Eriez Flotation.
  7. Representing Eriez Flotation at client meetings, trade shows, and conferences, utilizing marketing materials effectively.
  8. Managing a team of sales professionals and back-office staff to ensure Eriez solutions are recognized by engineering firms, consultants, and clients across Canada and other territories.
  9. Staying informed on industry trends through workshops, publications, networking, and professional associations.
  10. Preparing the annual budget for the Sales group and monitoring expenses and profits.
  11. Developing systems to track Requests for Quotations (RFQs) and orders, ensuring efficient transfer to other departments.
Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess over 15 years of relevant experience in sales and team management, with a preference for those with a background in flotation technology, manufacturing, or mining equipment.

Essential qualifications include:

  • A strong competitive spirit and a proven history of closing complex sales.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with experience managing a multinational team.
  • Comfort in leadership roles, with the ability to assign tasks and work independently in ambiguous situations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (approximately 20%-30%).
  • Strong prioritization skills for managing opportunities and time effectively.
  • Problem-solving capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of multitasking to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to plan and travel within the region.
  • Proficiency in French is a significant advantage.
