ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be an essential contributor to our organization. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the estimating team in producing precise and competitive proposals, ensuring the success of projects through efficient bidding and time management. Your duties will include:

  • Collaborating with the estimating team, subcontractors, and suppliers to create thorough bids that align with client expectations and industry benchmarks.
  • Reviewing contract documents, tender specifications, and design drawings to accurately comprehend project requirements and manage the estimating process.
  • Identifying value engineering and cost-saving opportunities while minimizing risks, maintaining clear communication with clients and subcontractors.
  • Establishing and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with clients, suppliers, and project team members.
  • Conducting project evaluations to ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and policies, and performing comprehensive project assessments for continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Mechanical Estimation and project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in local civil construction or high-rise projects, with a solid understanding of industry standards.
  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Proficiency in Trimble Accubid and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong collaborative skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective leadership and communication abilities with stakeholders.
  • Experience in accurate quantity takeoffs for various project types.
  • Familiarity with various relevant software applications and exceptional communication skills.

PREFERABLE SKILLS

  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD software, capable of producing precise and detailed project drawings.
  • Possession of a Class 5 driver's license.
