Job Title: Vice President, External Communications and Stakeholder Relations

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our external communications and stakeholder relations efforts. As Vice President, you will be responsible for establishing BDC's strategic positioning in the marketplace, leading our overall external communication strategy, and managing our reputation from all angles.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement integrated external communication and public relations plans to support our business vision and corporate priorities.
  • Lead the creation of regulatory disclosure documents and other corporate documents, ensuring transparency and compliance.
  • Oversee public relations activities, including media relations strategies and the launch of innovative initiatives to increase BDC's media coverage.
  • Manage crisis communications and reputation issues, ensuring timely and effective responses.
  • Collaborate with business units to strengthen brand building and communications activities, ensuring consistent messaging and efficient deployment of initiatives.
  • Establish productive relations with key government decision-makers, ensuring they have a current and complete understanding of BDC priorities, realities, and impact.
  • Lead stakeholder outreach initiatives, maintain dialogue, and engage with key stakeholders to understand their concerns and inform review and enhancement of corporate planning and business priorities.
  • Lead a team of dedicated professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, journalism, MBA, or a related field.
  • 15 years of business experience, with 5-8 years in a senior management role, including experience in leading managers.
  • Multidisciplinary experience in corporate communications, with a proven track record of success.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mobilize and inspire teams.
  • Excellent writing and creative skills, with the ability to craft compelling messages and stories.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior leadership and interface effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to think strategically, with a deep understanding of the financial/B2B/economic sector at the national level.
  • Excellent English and French skills, both oral and written.
