TOTEM recruteur de talent is partnering with a leading public health and social services organization dedicated to serving Aboriginal communities. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Director of Communications to join their dynamic team.

This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization's mission by developing and executing impactful communication strategies that resonate with both internal and external audiences. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the organization's public image and fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Communications and cross-functional teams to develop and implement comprehensive communication plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage regional issues, reporting, analysis, and resource development needs in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Provide strategic communications support to senior management and managers, ensuring their communication requirements are effectively met.
  • Identify key priorities for information dissemination to diverse audiences, tailoring messaging for maximum impact.
  • Contribute to the creation of multidisciplinary teams focused on developing customer-centric services and initiatives.
  • Coordinate the activities of the communications team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.
  • Assist in the development of compelling communication campaigns across various channels, including traditional media, digital platforms, and events.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated passion for and understanding of Aboriginal culture and its significance within the organization's context.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in communications, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. Proficiency in French is highly desirable.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute successful communication strategies.
