CIMCO Refrigeration is seeking a skilled Project Engineer with expertise in HVAC and Refrigeration to enhance our Engineering Department.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead and execute engineering projects either independently or collaboratively with other engineers based on project complexity and personal experience.
  2. Analyze and evaluate designs for HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing systems in various applications to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  3. Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions and provide technical support to the sales team.
  4. Refine equipment selections and material specifications in accordance with project requirements.
  5. Prepare comprehensive reports and documentation for project proposals.
  6. Engage with external stakeholders, including clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors, to ensure project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  7. Collaborate with various internal departments such as service, construction, electrical, and manufacturing as necessary.
  8. Generate and distribute engineering documentation, including construction drawings, system design schematics, and project schedules.
  9. Oversee construction administration and project management tasks, along with other assigned duties.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution, with a solid foundation in thermodynamics.
  2. Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  3. Proven track record of being self-motivated and goal-oriented, capable of working independently.
  4. Familiarity with construction techniques and practices is advantageous.
  5. In-depth knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, and plumbing system designs.
  6. Understanding of HVAC duct design standards and engineering principles.
  7. Familiarity with SMACNA HVAC Duct Construction Standards.
  8. Experience with various HVAC systems, including packaged rooftops, split systems, and VRF.
  9. Mechanical design experience, including equipment selection, ductwork layout, and refrigeration systems.
  10. Proficiency in REVIT or similar 3D BIM software is a valuable asset.
  11. Competence in Autodesk software and other design/analysis tools.
  12. Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including the Ontario Building Code and ASHRAE specifications.
