Team Overview and Role Summary: The Structured Finance and Project Finance Group is instrumental in funding global infrastructure and projects. The Technical Advisory Services Team, a vital component of this group, specializes in delivering technical guidance to various financing teams and EDC's insurance divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver technical and business insights to internal stakeholders
- Perform technical due diligence and assess technical and operational risks associated with investment, financing, and insurance activities
- Evaluate critical documents such as business proposals, feasibility assessments, cost projections, implementation strategies, technical schematics, and related commercial agreements
- Advise internal stakeholders on strategies to mitigate technical, commercial, and financial risks
- Conduct independent research and analyze pertinent information
- Remain informed about current and emerging technologies, industry developments, and competitive dynamics
- Manage relationships with external technical advisors
- Contribute to overarching and sector-specific strategies
- Engage with external clients and other stakeholders as necessary
- Travel domestically and internationally for site assessments or meetings
Qualifications:
- University degree in engineering
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in a technical, consulting, project management, or related field
- Professional Engineer designation or eligibility for accreditation in Canada
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally
Skills and Knowledge:
- Industry expertise and capacity to comprehend and interpret internal and external client requirements
- Exceptional oral and written communication abilities
- Strong judgment in technical and business contexts
- Capability to manage complex transactions with limited information
- Effective problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a multi-project environment
- Clear and concise communication of intricate business issues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the private sector
- External consulting experience
- Degree or training in business administration, finance, or a related discipline
- Fluency in both official languages (English and French)
