BDO Canada LLP is a leading professional services firm that empowers excellence in risk management. Our Risk Advisory team is seeking a Senior Consultant, Risk Advisory Services to join our Ottawa office.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Collaborating with engagement teams to plan and deliver internal audits and other related risk advisory projects.
- Gathering and reviewing relevant information to inform risk assessments and the development of audit programs.
- Supporting engagement teams in the development of high-quality client deliverables.
- Building positive working relationships with clients and identifying improvements for future assignments.
- Maintaining a proactive and logical approach to information gathering and analysis, presenting complex ideas clearly through writing and speaking.
- Ensuring high-quality client service through daily progress of fieldwork and communication of updates to both Managers and fellow staff.
- Demonstrating and applying strong project management skills, working collaboratively with team members, and using current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness and quality of deliverables and services.
- Soliciting and applying feedback from Managers and peers to enhance the quality and efficiency of future engagements.
- Assisting Managers with business development proposals to existing and new clients.
- Assisting Managers in developing/refreshing methodologies related to existing and new solutions and services.
Requirements
- You have completed a relevant post-secondary program or degree/diploma.
- You have completed or are interested in pursuing your professional designation (CPA, CIA, CISA, etc.).
- You have at least 3-5 years of professional experience in an internal audit, risk, or related setting.
- You can diagnose project issues, build solutions, and draft impactful communications for clients.
- You display strong problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- You have or qualify to receive Government of Canada security clearance.
- Bilingual in French and English is an asset.
