Primary Care Assistant

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Primary Care Assistant to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Primary Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our healthcare team in providing high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative support to healthcare providers and teams
- Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and data entry
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Perform various clerical tasks, such as answering phones and responding to emails
- Grade 12 or equivalent
- Graduation from an Office Assistant Course from an accredited Community College plus two years recent, related experience in a healthcare setting
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Ability to type 40 WPM
- Ability to operate related equipment
- Ability to follow detailed instruction
- Ability to use a high degree of tact and diplomacy in working with others
- Ability to work in a manner that is in compliance with staff and patient safety practices, policies, and procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer word processing, spreadsheet applications, and specialized clinical information systems
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
