Position Summary

Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist seeking a dynamic environment to utilize your skills and knowledge? Northern Health Authority is looking for a dedicated individual to join our Primary Care department.

Within a person-centered care model, the Occupational Therapist collaborates with interprofessional teams to develop and deliver health services coordinated through the Primary Care Home.

The OT practices in accordance with professional standards and ethical guidelines set by the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions to patients within a primary care setting.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals, promoting independence and functional abilities.
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Educate patients and their families on various aspects of occupational therapy, empowering them to manage their health conditions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with established protocols.

Qualifications

  • Registered Occupational Therapist with current licensure in British Columbia.
  • Demonstrated experience providing occupational therapy services in a primary care setting preferred.
  • Strong clinical skills and knowledge of evidence-based practice.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Commitment to person-centered care and collaborative teamwork.
