About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Aegion. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with field management to balance safety requirements with production goals.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety procedures and protocols.
- Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain safety-related programs and activities to promote a culture of safety.
- Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. occupational health and safety, environmental science).
- 2+ years of experience in a related field, preferably in a construction environment.
- Certifications such as NCSO or CRSP (or equivalent) would be an asset.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel up to 60% between Eastern Canada.
