Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Charles River Laboratories in Laval, Quebec. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our employees and the community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective health and safety programs to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for mitigating hazards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deliver health and safety training programs.
  • Investigate incidents and develop corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Develop and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees on health and safety matters.
Requirements
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in a laboratory or industrial setting.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as occupational health and safety or a related discipline.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
