Job Description:

About the Role: Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Program Coordinator is accountable for overseeing plant safety and environmental initiatives to ensure a secure and accident-free workplace. This role involves implementing, managing, and refining policies and programs to enhance the facility's environmental and safety performance while ensuring adherence to current and future regulations and standards. You will plan and/or deliver training programs for managers and employees regarding workplace safety and environmental practices. You will add value to this position by executing various functions, including but not limited to:

  • Managing all facets of EHS, including OSHA compliance, environmental record keeping, safety audits, and accident investigations while identifying workplace hazards.
  • Developing, assessing, and maintaining the budget for the EHS department.
  • Ensuring the facility's compliance with OSHA and environmental laws and regulations.
  • Creating, delivering, and monitoring participation in health and safety training and OSHA certifications.
  • Providing ongoing assistance to department managers for safety meetings and departmental modifications.
  • Reviewing injury reports to confirm all incidents are accurately documented and appropriate measures are taken to prevent recurrence.
  • Preparing and submitting environmental compliance reports to regulatory bodies.
  • The responsibilities outlined are not an exhaustive list of all tasks. Additional duties may be assigned as necessitated by business needs.

Important Details: This is a full-time, permanent role located in our Richmond Hill, ON facility.

About You:

  • You will thrive in this role if you possess:
  • A degree or diploma in Safety or Business Management is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting with a proven track record of implementing and managing safety initiatives.
  • A solid understanding of EHS regulations and requirements.
  • Knowledge of the technical fundamentals of safety management and risk assessments.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS Office, Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities.
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment is preferred.
