About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our team at Smash Kitchen and Bar. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and leading a team of cooks and kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain optimal inventory levels
    • Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation
    • Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards
  • Team Management
    • Maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage
    • Prepare and submit reports to management
    • Establish work schedules and delegate tasks to kitchen staff
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, including housing, transportation, and storage
    • Support social and labor market integration of newcomers and refugees, including access to community resources, language training, and skills training
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Offer mentorship, coaching, and networking opportunities for Indigenous workers
    • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations
    • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers
  • Work Environment
    • Work Term: Permanent

    • Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week
