About the Position:

  • Teaching Responsibilities: The Legal Professor will be responsible for teaching a course on statutory interpretation, developing and delivering lectures, and assessing student performance.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: The successful candidate will have a strong background in statutory interpretation, with a focus on developing analytical skills and argumentation methods.
  • Course Development: The Legal Professor will be responsible for developing and updating course materials, including syllabi, readings, and assignments.
  • Student Support: The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support to students, including office hours, email, and phone support.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: The successful candidate will have an LL.B., J.D., or equivalent, as well as a good standing membership in the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Experience: The Legal Professor will have significant experience in statutory interpretation, with a focus on developing analytical skills and argumentation methods.
  • Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience is an asset, but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Hours: The Legal Professor will work 39 hours per week.
  • Course Schedule: The course will be taught in a regular part-time position, with a schedule to be confirmed.

Language of Instruction: English

Competence in Second Language: Passive
