Overview: As a Senior Structures Inspector at McIntosh Perry, you will play a crucial role in overseeing engineering assessments for innovative bridge construction and essential rehabilitation projects. Your expertise will ensure the structural safety and integrity of key transportation infrastructures, influencing the development of both urban and rural environments.

About McIntosh Perry: With a strong reputation in Contract Administration (CA), McIntosh Perry has been delivering CA and Construction Inspection (CI) services to various municipalities and private sector clients for many years. Our CA division is composed of a diverse team of project managers, contract administrators, and inspection personnel, both senior and junior, along with additional technical support staff. As a vital member of our Inspection teams, you will act as the representative of the owner, ensuring that construction projects are executed efficiently and in compliance with all regulations and contractual obligations.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections on various construction projects to verify adherence to contract specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Interpret and apply the requirements outlined in contract drawings and specifications.
  • Identify and address any contractual or regulatory violations.
  • Verify quantities, prepare progress documentation, and maintain accurate records.
  • Engage with contractors and stakeholders, performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in structural inspection related to road and/or bridge construction projects.
  • Proven experience as a Construction Inspector - Structures on at least two previous projects.
  • Registered as EIT or P. Eng. with the PEO or OACETT designation, or the ability to obtain this designation within a specified timeframe.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail skills.
  • A demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle with appropriate registration and insurance.
  • Flexibility to work varied schedules and travel to project sites as needed.
