Position Overview
Are you a seasoned Construction Inspector with a background in complex municipal or MTO highway, road, and bridge projects? Parsons Corporation is on the lookout for a Senior Construction Inspector to oversee significant infrastructure initiatives across Southern Ontario. The projects encompass road widening, pavement restoration, bridge repairs, and the establishment of underground utilities.
The ideal candidate will perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with contract terms and specifications. Responsibilities will include conducting inspections on existing road and bridge projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to health and safety standards as well as environmental regulations.
- Maintain comprehensive diaries and photographic records to document daily construction activities.
- Execute inspections in accordance with the relevant guidelines, including MTO's Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual.
- Coordinate with onsite sub-consultants and manage quality assurance material testing.
- Report on installed quantities to validate applications for monthly payments and change orders.
- Organize project-related office files, quantity calculations, and other documentation as stipulated by the construction contract.
A combination of the following qualifications is required:
- Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, or a combination of relevant experience.
- Registration as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI) with PEO or OACETT.
- Over 10 years of experience in construction inspection related to MTO or municipal transportation projects.
- Familiarity with MTO's Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual (CAITM).
- Understanding of applicable design standards, OPS specifications, standard drawings, and quality control/quality assurance testing methods.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in software applications such as MS Word and Excel.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Valid Class 'G' driver's license.
