Position Overview

Are you a seasoned Construction Inspector with extensive experience in high-complexity municipal and MTO highway, road, and bridge projects? Parsons Corporation is currently in search of a Senior Construction Inspector to oversee large-scale infrastructure initiatives across various locations in Southern Ontario. The projects encompass highway and road widening, pavement rehabilitation, bridge remediation, and the establishment of underground infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting daily inspections to ensure compliance with contract specifications and adherence to project requirements. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring strict compliance with health and safety standards as well as environmental regulations.
  • Maintaining comprehensive diaries and photographic documentation of daily construction activities.
  • Performing inspections in accordance with the applicable guidelines, including MTO's Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual.
  • Coordinating with onsite sub-consultants and overseeing quality assurance material testing.
  • Reporting installed quantities to validate applications for monthly payments and any change order work.
  • Organizing and maintaining project-related office files, quantity calculations, and other documentation as stipulated by the construction contract.

A combination of the following qualifications is required:

  • Degree or Diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, along with relevant experience.
  • PEO or OACETT certification as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (RCSI).
  • Over 10 years of experience in construction inspection within MTO or municipal transportation projects.
  • Familiarity with MTO's Construction Administration and Inspection Task Manual (CAITM).
  • Understanding of applicable design standards, OPS specifications, standard drawings, and quality control/quality assurance material testing methods.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer software such as MS Word and Excel.
  • Must possess personal transportation for commuting to job sites.
  • Valid Class 'G' driver's license.
