This is a rare and exciting opportunity to work in a developing post, with the potential to transition to a senior role after a period of time.
About the Role- Assess patients' anaesthetic risk and optimize complex pre-existing conditions to enable safe general anaesthesia for a variety of surgical and diagnostic procedures.
- Work closely with consultant paediatric anaesthetists to assess patients face-to-face, virtually, or by telephone, and arrange investigations and coordinate care pathways.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to alleviate anxieties and facilitate patient-centric perioperative plans.
- Provide a streamlined patient journey, ensuring optimal quality of care.
- Support the clinical team to manage a defined caseload, including assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment within defined protocols.
- Communicate with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure effective care management.
- Contribute to specialist education and training for ward staff, nursing students, and medical students.
- Essential:
- Registered Nurse (appropriate to branch)
- Current NMC registration
- Degree/Masters level study, or equivalent specialist study/experience
- Recent experience of extended clinical practice in a senior role
- Audit/research experience
- Desirable:
- Master's degree
- Management experience/qualification
- Non-Medical Prescribing (if relevant to role)
