Job Summary:

As a Senior Director, Commercial Planning and Strategy, you will play a key role in supporting the strategic direction of International Banking Retail at Scotiabank. This is a 18-month contract position that requires a high degree of collaboration with senior leadership, different countries, business lines, and multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Strategic Planning: Maintain up-to-date International Banking Retail strategy, considering internal and external developments and considerations.
  2. Market Research: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to support strategic decision-making and drive innovation within the organization.
  3. Cross-Functional Programs: Act as the main liaison of International Banking Retail for enterprise-wide cross-functional programs and initiatives.
  4. Risk Management: Direct day-to-day activities in a manner consistent with the Bank's risk culture and the relevant risk appetite statement and limits.
  5. Team Leadership: Create an environment in which your team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to, and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk, and conduct risk.
  6. People Strategy: Build a high-performance environment and implement a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates your team by fostering an inclusive work environment.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree required and Master's degree preferred in Business/Finance.
  2. Strategic Influencing: Demonstrated strategic influencing ability, and a high degree of collaboration with senior leadership, different countries, business lines, and multiple teams.
  3. Strategy Development: Proven experience in strategy development and partner management.
  4. Agile Principles: Experience in applying agile principles and practices.
Work Arrangement:

Work in a standard office-based environment; Periodic travel to international locations.
