Position Overview

Galderma Canada Inc. is seeking a seasoned, innovative, and strategic leader for the role of Director, Aesthetics Business Unit. This position is crucial for the development and execution of marketing and sales strategies, as well as the establishment of objectives and policies for the business unit, ensuring that our portfolio of aesthetic products achieves market leadership in Canada. The focus will be on digital product strategy, medico-marketing, and brand repositioning to meet the business unit's goals.

The successful candidate will be an integral part of our international aesthetics business network, collaborating with global markets to tackle challenges and identify growth opportunities, thereby supporting the overarching objectives of the company's aesthetics division on a worldwide scale. This executive role reports directly to the General Manager Canada.

Key Responsibilities

Managing the entire lifecycle of Aesthetics and Alastin products while leading the Aesthetics Business Unit in Canada, encompassing Sales, Marketing, and Clinical Training. Cultivating a leadership culture that attracts, nurtures, and retains top talent, shaping the business for future success. Ensuring the business unit has an effective organizational structure, processes, and communication channels. Evaluating and approving all strategic plans aligned with global objectives. Overseeing sales forecasting activities, targets, and performance metrics. Developing and implementing plans related to product lines or business units, including research and development, clinical, marketing, financial planning, and operational processes. Holding primary accountability for the profit and loss of the business unit, including budget management to ensure all activities are executed within the agreed financial framework. Participating in Galderma Canada Sales Meetings, both National and Regional, and attending local conferences as necessary. Representing the business unit in global office meetings and collaborating with other functional leaders to enhance business growth and compliance. Strengthening and maintaining relationships with key account stakeholders. Ensuring product quality and customer service objectives are met at the business unit level. Leading and managing a team of approximately 50 employees within the assigned unit. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, approval, and evaluation of this unit, adhering to organizational policies and applicable laws. Job responsibilities will be conducted in English, with conversational proficiency in French required.

Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of international commercial, marketing, and/or sales leadership experience in the Aesthetics sector. Comprehensive understanding of the aesthetics industry, including market trends and competitive dynamics from a global perspective. A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related field from a recognized institution. An MBA or Master's Degree in Marketing is an asset. Completion of, or currently enrolled in, an executive leadership training program, demonstrating a solid grasp of leadership principles, strategic thinking, and effective decision-making. Advanced knowledge of international aesthetics and medical device markets, including market mechanisms, reimbursement/pricing policies, and regulatory affairs. At least two years of experience in developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, particularly in digital product strategy and brand repositioning across international markets. Proven experience in managing business unit budgets, including profit and loss responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to create and implement both short-term and long-term marketing and/or sales strategies that drive significant growth. Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis and market research to inform decision-making. Experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing direct reports, establishing clear expectations, providing coaching, and evaluating performance. A proven track record in effective people management, including coaching, motivation, and development planning. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively in English. Proficiency in French is also required. Willingness to travel overnight as necessary, estimated at up to 30%.
