Job Title: National Maintenance Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced National Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Employment and Social Development Canada. As a key member of our engineering and maintenance team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing maintenance management protocols, guiding the implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and reviewing maintenance history to develop national strategies for life-cycle management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement maintenance management protocols to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations.
  • Guide the implementation of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to improve maintenance planning, scheduling, and asset inventory management.
  • Review maintenance history and develop national strategies for life-cycle management to optimize maintenance operations and reduce costs.
Requirements:
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary engineering program or certificate of qualification in a trade associated with facilities maintenance.
  • About three (3) years of experience providing facilities maintenance services in a large facility, including experience in planning or coordinating facilities maintenance or construction projects.
  • Experience providing advice and guidance to management on facilities maintenance or construction matters, including experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Experience making technical decisions related to repairs and maintenance or facilities management projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering.
  • Provincial certification relevant to the duties of the position.
  • Experience in leading teams, developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs, and using MAXIMO Computerized Maintenance Management System.
  • Experience writing technical scopes of work, developing requests for project proposals, and providing training.
Work Environment:

The position is located in Ottawa, with the possibility of working from a regional office in another region. A hybrid work model (work in the office and teleworking) is in place according to current directives.Intent of the Process:
