Established in 1976, CBM specializes in delivering a blend of assurance, taxation, and advisory services to clients across the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. With a dedicated team of 29 professionals, 5 support staff, and 3 partners, our firm has cultivated a collaborative environment that enhances service efficiency. Following a recent merger, we have experienced consistent growth, all without the need for active advertising. Our offices are situated in downtown Hamilton and Ancaster.

We have recently expanded our team with junior accountants and are seeking experienced professionals to lead our engagements and mentor our staff.

Your Responsibilities:

  1. Management Role: You will primarily oversee the review of files prepared by junior staff, providing leadership and guidance throughout the preparation process. In addition, you may also prepare client files independently or collaboratively.
  2. Team Dynamics: Our firm fosters close internal relationships, ensuring that all team members are familiar with one another despite operating from two locations. You will have direct access to partners and maintain regular communication with them.
  3. Diverse Client Engagements: You will engage with a variety of corporate, individual, and estate clients across multiple industries, providing a rich professional experience.
  4. Variety of Services: Your work will encompass a range of engagements, including compilations, reviews, audits, personal and corporate tax returns, as well as specialized consulting projects.
  5. Commitment to Excellence: We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional client service with a personal touch. Candidates must exhibit a strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and a high level of professionalism.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Completion of Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in public accounting
  • Ability to mentor and develop junior staff
  • Strong technical proficiency in accounting, auditing, and tax compliance
  • Familiarity with CaseWare/Caseview, Jazzit, and Excel
  • Experience with tax software such as DTMax is advantageous
  • Advanced knowledge of Canadian tax regulations and accounting standards

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 annually
