We are currently seeking full-time Tax Managers for our Burlington and Hamilton offices.

In this role, you will report directly to Partners and Senior Managers and be tasked with:

  • Conducting final reviews of tax compliance, including tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships, along with associated foreign reporting obligations;
  • Leading tax planning projects and preparing detailed technical tax memoranda;
  • Reviewing instruction letters for corporate reorganizations, estate and post-mortem tax strategies, business succession planning, and transactions involving the purchase and sale of businesses;
  • Performing tax research and analyzing tax legislation and proposed changes to provide proactive solutions to clients and senior management;
  • Identifying significant issues or findings and discussing them with the Senior Manager or Tax Partner, as necessary;
  • Delegating tasks appropriately and ensuring their completion aligns with the firm's quality and client service standards;
  • Communicating with the Canada Revenue Agency and provincial ministries regarding client matters;
  • Serving as a technical resource within the firm and actively mentoring and developing junior staff;
  • Participating in client meetings to address schedules, technical concerns, and recommendations;
  • Managing billing and recoverability on tax engagements effectively.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in public accounting, with at least two (2) years focused on taxation
  • Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant Designation (CPA, CA)
  • A willingness to enroll in or current enrollment in the CPA In-Depth Tax Course, or successful completion of the MTax program
  • A comprehensive understanding of Canadian income taxation, with tax planning experience considered an asset
  • A commitment to continuous learning and broadening expertise in various tax concepts
