We currently have an opening for a full-time Senior Staff Accountant, Tax. Depending on your experience, you may also be considered for a Supervisor position. We are eager to discuss this opportunity with you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review compliance of tax returns for individuals, corporations, trusts, and partnerships, including related foreign reporting requirements
  • Engage in tax planning projects and prepare technical tax memoranda
  • Draft instruction letters for corporate reorganizations, estate and post-mortem tax planning, business succession planning, and business transactions
  • Conduct tax research and interpret tax legislation and proposed changes
  • Provide technical expertise as an internal resource for staff needing tax support on client files or specific inquiries
  • Prepare client correspondence, including reports and analyses, discussions of technical issues, and recommendations, and attend client meetings as necessary
  • Assist other offices of the Firm as required and collaborate with various service lines across the firm

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A degree in Accounting or a related field
  • Progress towards a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
  • Experience in a public accounting environment is an asset
  • A willingness to enroll in or currently enrolled in the CICA In-Depth Tax Course
  • 2-3 years of experience with Canadian Income Taxation
