Job Summary

This position is responsible for working directly with external and internal stakeholders to ensure that all projects are completed safely within budget and defined scope. The Electrical Estimator/Project Coordinator must be an effective communicator with leadership skills necessary to motivate professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results on every project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimating and Budgeting: Prepare estimates for various commercial and industrial construction projects, including budget analysis and scope reviews.
  • Project Coordination: Engage in various responsibilities such as issuing subcontracts, requisitions, change management, and ongoing communication to complete projects.
  • Scheduling and Logistics: Schedule drawing submittals, hardware and delivery of material to job sites, as well as submitting monthly progress claims and approving invoices.
  • Client Satisfaction: Consistently meet client requirements for safety, quality, schedule, and cost.
  • Issue Resolution: Recognize key issues and act in a timely manner to expedite solutions both internally and externally.
  • Project Interpretation: Interpret construction drawings and specifications to understand project requirements and interface with clients.
  • Estimate Preparation: Accurately prepare material take-offs, estimates, bid letters, and schedules in a timely manner.
  • Software Utilization: Utilize estimating software and expand software capabilities.
  • Subcontractor and Supplier Management: Solicit subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Construction Scheduling: Prepare construction schedules.
Technical Requirements
  • Electrical Engineering/Technology Background: Electrical engineering/technology background required (Degree or diploma from an accredited institution).
  • Industry Experience: Exposure to working in general contracting or the construction management sector considered a definite asset.
  • Industrial Experience: Industrial experience would be considered an asset.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient experience with Microsoft Project, project cost control software, and project management software required.
