Position Overview
As a Relief Youth Worker, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safety, security, and oversight of young individuals in custody at a correctional facility. This role involves engaging with youth, promoting constructive behavior, and executing various programs and services tailored to their needs. Additionally, you will handle administrative responsibilities, including database management and report preparation. This position demands strong communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the capacity to make informed decisions during critical situations.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Oversight: Ensure the supervision and safety of youth in custody.
- Supervision of Individuals in Custody: Manage activities and interactions with youth.
- Facility Maintenance: Oversee cleaning and maintenance operations within the facility.
- Program Facilitation: Organize and lead programs and activities for youth.
- Administrative Duties: Document information, communicate effectively, and engage in meetings.
Qualifications
A bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience, such as certification from a Correctional Officer program, is required. Previous experience in law enforcement, security, or related fields is advantageous. Strong interpersonal skills, leadership qualities, and a commitment to confidentiality are crucial for success in this role.

This position may require flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
