Contract Management Advisor for Project Delivery

KION Group AG is seeking a Contract Management Advisor to enhance the ongoing expansion of our Canadian operations through effective project delivery. This role is crucial in collaborating with the Project Management team to provide guidance and support in risk management, ensuring contractual rights are upheld when necessary.

The successful candidate will engage in tasks such as evaluating, interpreting, and clarifying contract principles, reviewing and modifying contract change orders, and collaborating with the project team to identify opportunities for cost savings through strategic claims management.

Key Responsibilities:

Your Role Will Involve:

  • Delivering comprehensive contract interpretation support for a variety of Dematic projects, often concurrently
  • Responding swiftly and accurately to business inquiries regarding complex contracts with minimal oversight, escalating issues to the legal team as necessary
  • Conducting analyses to pinpoint key contract terms, comparing them to our standard agreements, and advising the business on strategies as required
  • Creating and maintaining templates and standard operating procedures for contracting processes while tracking relevant metrics
  • Facilitating the continuous enhancement of standard form agreements and processes that affect both the legal and project management teams

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or substantial experience in contract management and/or project management
  • A minimum of five years of experience in contract management, particularly in project management roles involving the preparation and review of proposals, contracts, and change orders
  • Proven ability to identify and resolve moderately complex issues using strong problem-solving skills
  • Experience in drafting and reviewing contracts
  • Capability to explain contractual terms to non-experts, focusing on the interpretation and application of real-world risks and obligations
  • Aptitude for advising project management teams as a subject matter expert
  • Ability to manage multiple ongoing projects independently and efficiently
  • Demonstrated understanding of the basic project life cycle
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Preferred experience in negotiation
