Job Overview:

Lehigh Hanson is a prominent supplier in North America, specializing in cement, aggregates, ready-mix concrete, and asphalt. With numerous facilities and a dedicated workforce across the United States and Canada, we are part of the Heidelberg Cement Group, one of the largest building materials companies globally.

We are at the forefront of innovation, developing North America's first comprehensive carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) solution for the cement sector at our facility in Edmonton. This initiative aims to capture up to one million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2), which will be transported and permanently stored in deep saline formations. The project will also feature a 120MW combined heat and power facility, ensuring the necessary heat for the process while generating electricity for both the new and existing plant, along with supplying excess low-emission electricity to the grid. This endeavor is crucial for enabling Lehigh Hanson and our clients to minimize emissions in construction and support net-zero carbon concrete solutions.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a CCUS Project Controls Analyst for our new facility. This role will oversee and coordinate all project control activities, including scheduling, budgeting, contract management, and risk assessment. The successful candidate will be responsible for project documentation control and reporting, based at our project office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee project control functions
  • Manage the project documentation control system and filing
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager and Project Director on reporting for various meetings
  • Lead the schedule update and revision processes
  • Maintain project risk assessments and contribute to recovery plans as necessary
  • Engage in project audits and group review processes to facilitate project execution

Qualifications:

  • 5-8 years of experience in project controls, with a focus on scheduling or estimating
  • Preferred experience managing a project controls team for 5+ years
  • A four-year degree in a related field is preferred
  • Experience with EPCs or large contract execution models is advantageous
  • Strong skills in estimating and scheduling
  • Advanced knowledge of cost and schedule control software
  • Ability to manage both internal and external project stakeholders
