Position Overview:

In this pivotal role, reporting directly to the Director of Human Resources, the HR Business Partner will play a crucial role in supporting all divisions of WSAudiology across Canada. This is a permanent, full-time hybrid position with an expectation of on-site presence for 2-3 days per week on average. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing HR programs, policies, and practices that align with organizational goals, encompassing areas such as training, benefits management, performance evaluation, and workplace safety.
  • Serving as an HR authority on employment matters, interpreting multi-province regulations to minimize risks, and collaborating with external legal counsel and senior HR leaders for complex situations.
  • Providing employee relations support while ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements and internal policies, including consultation and investigation of potential issues that could impact the organization.
  • Working closely with Finance and other experts to create and maintain HR metrics that deliver essential business insights to senior management.
  • Acting as a change agent, facilitating the organization and its employees through various change management processes, including mergers and acquisitions.
  • Collaborating with the Talent Acquisition team to enhance talent attraction and retention strategies.
  • Coaching and advising business leaders on the implementation of HR policies and programs.
  • Executing HR initiatives with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service and driving process enhancements.
  • Assisting with special projects, employee engagement events, and other initiatives as needed.
  • Championing organizational culture by developing meaningful programs aimed at engaging and recognizing employees.
  • Partnering with the broader HR team to analyze employee feedback from various sources, including engagement surveys and exit interviews, to inform new initiatives.
  • Leading health and safety programs and collaborating with Training & Development and Quality teams on compliance-related projects.
  • Managing and tracking employee leaves and incidents related to workplace safety and absence management.
  • Staying informed about developments in the Human Resources field and proposing new initiatives to the HR team.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary education, preferably at the Bachelor's degree level.
  • CHRP designation or in progress (or equivalent HR certification).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a comprehensive HR role.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is an asset.
  • Strong understanding of HR best practices, regulations, and legislative changes.
  • Experience with multi-province HR legislation is highly desirable.
  • Background in a matrixed organization, including exposure to various subsidiaries.
  • Proficiency in tools such as Microsoft Excel or other BI tools for analyzing severance-related costs.
  • Experience with mergers and acquisitions and supporting HR initiatives in these contexts.
  • Ability to identify root causes and effectively advise on complex employee relations matters using conflict resolution skills.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, organizational, and facilitation abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a proven track record of influencing, negotiating, and resolving stakeholder issues.
  • Results-driven with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and manage ad-hoc requests.
  • Knowledge of workplace safety hazards and safe work practices.
  • Familiarity with various tools, including MS Office Suite and HRIS programs (experience with SuccessFactors or DayForce is a plus).
