Project Officer Job Description

Job Summary:

The Project Officer will work under the direction of the Assistant Director, Inuit Training Programs, to support the Makigiaqta Inuit Training Cooperation. This includes reviewing funding proposals, monitoring and evaluating work related to the cooperation, and coordinating with stakeholders, governments, training organizations, and other sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish performance frameworks, measure indicators, and outcomes
  • Develop quality assurance strategies and maintain relationships with program partners
  • Provide informed and evidence-supported decision-making on program amendments and improvements
  • Ensure effective distribution of funding to communities/committees to maximize desirable outcomes
  • Build capacity and ensure commitments set out in objectives are achieved

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 high school diploma
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field
  • Good problem-solving abilities and self-motivation
  • Ability to work under stress and pressure, meeting demanding deadlines
  • Knowledge of the Nunavut Agreement, NTI's mission, and federal and territorial government mechanisms
  • Fluency in Inuktitut/Inuinnaqtun language is a considerable asset

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Inuit enrolled under the Nunavut Agreement

Compensation:

Starting salary is $95,810.00 per annum (commensurate with experience), with a comprehensive benefits package including an employee pension plan, group insurance, and vacation travel assistance. Housing Allowance of $35,232.00.
