JOB OVERVIEW

The Community Integration Specialist is responsible for assessing, supporting, and guiding clients at the Restigouche Hospital Center in fostering their independence, in accordance with the interdisciplinary intervention strategy. The primary objective is to facilitate their reintegration into society through the execution of treatment and rehabilitation initiatives. This position employs a variety of intervention techniques, including one-on-one client consultations, support for therapeutic groups conducted by nursing personnel and professional services, as well as leading educational sessions.

Given the specialized nature of psychiatric interventions, the incumbent organizes their responsibilities to guarantee the continuity of services for the assigned clientele. The role is anchored in clinical principles of recovery, risk management, needs assessment, and responsiveness, all within a collaborative interdisciplinary clinical framework. The ethical guidelines of the Vitalité Health Network, along with other relevant policies and procedures, govern the clinical practice of the counselor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of high school education or General Education Development (GED) alongside additional training in community integration lasting over six months and up to one year, or equivalent;
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS);
  • Training in Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI) - Advanced techniques or a commitment to complete training as scheduled;
  • Training in Suicide Prevention and Management or a commitment to complete training as scheduled;
  • Possession of a valid driver's license in accordance with New Brunswick Motor Vehicle Act requirements;
  • Strong judgment and organizational capabilities;
  • Ability to implement a variety of intervention strategies in innovative ways;
  • Capacity to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team;
  • Physical capability to execute assigned duties;
  • Positive previous employment record (performance and attendance);
  • Commitment to professional ethics, the management philosophy of the Network, and organizational values;
  • Adherence to the confidentiality standards of the Vitalité Health Network;
  • The aforementioned qualifications may be evaluated through oral, written, or practical assessments during the selection process;
