The RoleWe are seeking a Recreation Leader to join our team As a Recreation Leader, you will have the opportunity to work in various locations and program formats, leading activities that promote social connections and skill development for our community members. You will work with individuals of all ages, from preschoolers to seniors, and lead activities such as arts and crafts, fitness and wellness, performing arts, and sports and outdoor adventure.
As a Recreation Leader, you will be responsible for designing and delivering recreational programs, teaching and leading individuals and groups, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment. You will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, making a real difference in the lives of our community members.
Qualifications- High school diploma
- Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
- Valid driver's license (Alberta), an asset
- HIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child Development or HIGH FIVE Sport (successful completion by end of probation)
- HIGH FIVE Healthy Minds for Healthy Children (successful completion by end of probation)
- Experience working with children, programming activities for children, leading children in activities, and ensuring safety protocols and procedures
- Competencies in client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork, and leadership
English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset

Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling, and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg). The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check. This is an on-site position with an assigned work location. Preference will be given to those candidates with daytime availability.
