POSITION OVERVIEW Reporting to the Supervisor of Housing Programs, this role is essential in delivering client services to applicants, participants, and landlords involved in rent subsidy and home repair initiatives. Responsibilities include providing comprehensive program information, reviewing applications for completeness, preparing eligibility assessments for review, conducting benefit assessments for qualifying households, ensuring precise data tracking and maintaining records, as well as managing databases and generating summary and statistical reports.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Furnishes applicants and clients with detailed program information, including eligibility criteria, application and documentation requirements, and ongoing participation obligations. Aids clients in completing program applications or updating forms, ensuring all information is thorough and following up as necessary. Conducts benefit assessments for qualifying households and alerts the supervisor of any concerns or potential misrepresentation. Facilitates the internal review process by monitoring requests and evaluating them for completeness; solicits additional information from clients and/or original decision-makers as required. Receives and organizes the return of housing provider files; prepares documentation for review. Drafts program agreements for execution with clients and/or landlords. Monitors the availability of client subsidy allocations and calculates client subsidy/benefit amounts. Addresses inquiries from clients and the public regarding requests for information. Performs additional duties as assigned, aligning with Branch and Department objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Successful completion of a Post-Secondary Diploma in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Understanding of basic accounting principles and practices for processing accounts payable and balancing rental payments. Familiarity with relevant legislation and program policies, including the Residential Tenancies Act, the Housing Services Act, and Regional program instructions. Comprehensive knowledge of general office procedures, particularly in records management. Proven ability in corporate core competencies, including customer focus, effective communication, collaboration, and personal accountability.
