Role Overview

Reporting to the IT Director of Infrastructure Management & Innovation, the Infrastructure Solutions Architect plays a pivotal role in shaping our technical framework. This position involves overseeing the architecture development process, managing requests for Infrastructure & Services, and ensuring adherence to architectural governance. You will lead the initial request phase through to high-level analysis and solution development, engaging relevant stakeholders for detailed design.

The Infrastructure Solutions Architect is also responsible for planning, estimating, and defining roadmaps for IT initiatives, projects, and emerging technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the intake processes for technical architecture, including gathering requirements, consulting with specialists, and conducting high-level designs.
  • Establish trusted relationships with peer architects and specialists, leveraging their expertise to gain insights into ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Develop comprehensive solution architectures that encompass multiple work streams, identifying dependencies and leading proof of concepts.
  • Provide consultation and develop estimates regarding project timelines, resource needs, and costs.
  • Maintain and manage architectural standards, reference architectures, and documentation repositories.
  • Conduct architectural reviews, facilitating meetings to ensure alignment with established standards and governance processes.
  • Maintain technology roadmaps to guide future initiatives.
  • Collaborate with architects across various IT functions, including Digital and Security.
  • Research and assess potential technological solutions and innovations relevant to Infrastructure & Services.
  • Offer subject matter expertise in technical architecture.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in architecting, designing, and implementing infrastructure systems.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a senior IT network role.
  • Experience in the Operational Technology (OT) domain, either as a consultant or within an internal function.
  • Deep expertise in at least two IT/OT infrastructure domains, with a broad understanding across all areas.
  • Experience in establishing IT/OT roadmaps to a target architecture.
  • Experience leading assessments of IT/OT environments, including analysis and reporting.
  • Relevant certifications such as Cisco CCNA or CCNP preferred.
  • Familiarity with security solutions and compliance standards.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, and GCP.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to produce detailed technical documentation.
  • Understanding of architecture frameworks and best practices.
  • Knowledge of IT security management practices and relevant certifications.
