Parts Inventory Analyst

At Toromont Cat, we are seeking a highly skilled Parts Inventory Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our inventory management team, you will be responsible for the procurement of parts, specifically related to Caterpillar, for our entire company. This includes making critical decisions on how much to order and distribute to our 50+ branches, as well as delivering key management reports.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with branches to determine inventory requirements and place planned stock orders (3-4 months out) using detailed guidelines and processes.
  • Process bi-yearly Caterpillar surplus returns ($12M+ annually) and regular stock levelling of the inventory throughout the branch network.
  • Work with customers on 'Buy Back' return requests, determining eligibility, customer buy back pricing, and parts distribution based on analysis.
  • Update, monitor, and review consignment inventory accounts to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Build and foster relationships with Caterpillar and key players in each branch to become a trusted source of information and guidance for strategic parts decisions.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of AS/400, experienced with Excel, Power BI, Power Query, and comfortable with data analysis.
  • Working knowledge of DBS parts system.
  • Knowledge of inventory control policies and procedures.
  • Good interpersonal skills and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a parts sales or distribution environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in business or office administration.
