Job Summary:

The Clinical Support Specialist at St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph plays a vital role in providing administrative support to hospital units under the Manager's guidance. This position demands high efficiency, organization, confidentiality, and time management skills to maintain a progressive healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities & Performance Indicators:

  • Ensures adherence to organizational policies and procedures
  • Fosters collaborative relationships with patients, families, and the healthcare team
  • Coordinates day-to-day activities on the unit
  • Handles phone calls and inquiries
  • Assists with patient admissions and discharges
  • Maintains patient filing systems
  • Processes orders and coordinates transportation
  • Organizes staff replacements and supplies
  • Promotes a culture of safety
  • Supports change initiatives
  • Performs other assigned duties

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Post-secondary diploma in an administrative program or equivalent
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Minimum one year of clerical experience in healthcare

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Team player with the ability to work independently

Work Schedule: 4hr/8hr shifts, sick and vacation coverage.
