Job Summary:
The Unit Secretary plays a vital role in the healthcare team at St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph. This position provides clerical support to hospital units, ensuring a progressive, efficient, and organized healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to healthcare teams, including answering phone calls, fielding questions, and coordinating activities.
- Organize patient admissions and discharges, maintaining accurate filing systems and processing patient orders.
- Coordinate transportation, supplies, and staff replacements as needed.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Contribute to a culture of client and staff safety by adhering to policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in administration or a related field.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
4-hour/8-hour shifts, sick and vacation coverage. Competitive salary range: $26.24-$26.87 per hour.
