Healthcare Administrative Assistant

Job Summary:
The Unit Secretary plays a vital role in the healthcare team at St. Joseph's Health Centre Guelph. Reporting to the Manager, this individual provides clerical support to assigned hospital units, ensuring a progressive, efficient, and organized healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the healthcare team, including answering phone calls, fielding questions, and coordinating patient admissions and discharges.
- Maintain accurate and organized patient filing systems, ensuring confidentiality and integrity of patient information.
- Process patient orders, photocopy and fax forms, and coordinate transportation as required.
- Organize staff replacements, supplies, and equipment, ensuring seamless operations.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate and organize daily activities on the unit.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in an administrative program or equivalent.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and experience in a healthcare setting.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Working Conditions:
4-hour/8-hour shifts, sick and vacation coverage, with a competitive salary range of $26.24-$26.87 per hour.
