Position Summary:

The Technical Field Support Specialist will play a crucial role in the installation, relocation, repair, and maintenance of advanced Photo Enforcement systems used in municipal safety initiatives. This position demands a commitment to high standards of equipment reliability and performance, with responsibilities including troubleshooting and responding to urgent service requests. The technician may operate independently or under guidance to address system performance challenges stemming from equipment setup, environmental conditions, or other influences.

Work Environment:

This position is based in the Toronto area, with responsibilities extending to surrounding regions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, and repair electronic enforcement equipment.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on electronic systems using specialized testing instruments.
  • Perform routine checks on enforcement systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Document work orders, test results, and maintenance activities accurately.
  • Assist in video surveys for potential new business opportunities.
  • Track and report on preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Support installation efforts for new system deployments or relocations.
  • Execute additional relevant tasks as assigned.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will have completed a two-to-three-year college program in electronics, engineering, or computer science, or possess equivalent professional experience. A background in digital imaging, network setup, and computer technology is essential. Strong communication, multitasking, and organizational abilities are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary, along with a willingness to travel as needed.

Physical Demands:

  • This role involves physical activity, including prolonged standing and manual labor in various environmental conditions.
  • Candidates must be capable of handling physical tasks in diverse weather scenarios.
  • Ability to use hands for various tasks, including climbing and balancing.
  • Frequent use of ladders and working at heights may be necessary.
  • Good vision, including the ability to see close, far, and peripherally, is crucial.
  • Must be able to lift and maneuver heavy equipment, climb ladders, and wear safety gear as required.

Compensation:

The hourly wage for this position is $27.16 CAD, with eligibility for overtime pay.
