Job Title: Counter Sales Representative

Job Summary

The Counter Sales Representative is responsible for greeting customers and receiving and generating their orders efficiently and effectively. To provide courteous, prompt, and efficient service to customers and give them the utmost assistance regarding product availability, pricing, and sourcing of material.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain friendly service and a positive company image.
  • Service customer needs promptly and efficiently, addressing customer questions or concerns.
  • Handle customer returns/defectives.
  • Handle customer orders.
  • Provide assistance/backup in shipping and receiving when required.
  • Promote products, contributing to branch sales.
  • Direct sales services of the general public.
  • Provide pricing and availability.
  • Enter customer orders into the business system as per Gerrie procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma.
  • Some experience/knowledge in the electrical/industrial distribution field is an asset.
  • Previous customer service experience.
  • Math skills are essential (measurement conversions, pricing, etc.).
  • Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
